Take care with: lower back, wrists
If you have trouble with your lower back or wrists, check with a doctor or physio first. In the app we automatically swap this exercise for a gentler one when you report it.
Upward-facing dog
How to
- 1
Lie on your stomach with your palms beside your lower ribs and the tops of your feet on the floor.
- 2
As you inhale, straighten your arms and lift your chest and thighs off the floor.
- 3
Only your palms and the tops of your feet stay on the floor; keep your legs active without clenching your glutes hard.
- 4
Keep your shoulders over your wrists, draw them back and down and open your chest forward.
- 5
Keep your neck long, look forward and breathe steadily.
Tips
Easier version: Cobra, with bent elbows and your hips on the floor.
