Take care with: shoulders, wrists, neck
If you have trouble with your shoulders or wrists or neck, check with a doctor or physio first. In the app we automatically swap this exercise for a gentler one when you report it.
Elevated pike push-up
How to
- 1
Put your feet on a chair or bench and your hands on the floor, with your hips stacked above your shoulders.
- 2
Walk your hands closer to the chair so your torso is as vertical as possible.
- 3
Bend your elbows and lower the top of your head to the floor in front of your hands, elbows pointing back.
- 4
Press back up until your arms are straight.
Tips
Only touch the floor lightly with your head; never rest your weight on it.
Easier version: a lower surface, or pike push-ups on the floor.
